Giving and philanthropy should be the backbone of a community and is very important in our family. I work for a non-profit so I get to see philanthropy in action every day and am blessed to be able to use that to share with both of my daughters from a very early age. I am proud to have my daughters see their parents giving back in whatever way they can not only in a monetary fashion but of their time and talents. Whatever your financial circumstance or background, their is a way to give and it is easy and important to show it to your children and make it a part of your every day life.

We believe giving is the most wonderful way to share God’s love. And the beautiful thing is, it’s something everyone can do regardless of your background, means or way of life. Everyone has something they can offer to be a blessing to someone else. As our son Aidan grows up we want him to understand the need to give to others not simply out of obligation but as a way to thank God for all that he has given us!

Our mission as a family is to love each other well, enjoy the time we have here on this Earth, and to leave the world a better place. To that end, we must help our children cultivate their talents and passions and lay a foundation of community-mindedness, so they will use those strengths to the betterment of our society.

I believe we have a divine mandate to care for and look after one another. So many of us have been blessed to live in favorable resources, and we have the privilege of sharing our resources with others so they too can live abundant lives. Kindness, generosity, and selfless service are best taught in the home, particularly by example.
